An Online Coaching Clinic on Answering Bar Exam Essay Questions

In the recent past, the Philippine Bar Exam has been reformed. Where before it comprised merely of Essay Questions, today Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) are included. Assuming that you know the answer, there's no problem to answering MCQs. Just encircle, shade, or tick as the case may be the letter of your answer.

But what about the Essay Questions? What a Bar Exam taker needs to hurdle it?

What is this online clinic & coaching?

It’s an individualized online workshop on the “Art of Answering Bar Exam Questions” which I personally conduct. It is based on the theory that passing the Bar Exams requires three L’s: Language, Logic and Law. However, what Bar takers usually focus on is a review of the Law only, often taking the other two L’s, Language and Logic, for granted. So, this program seeks to supplement your Bar Review with individualized diagnostics and coaching on the proper way to answer Bar Exam questions and problems.

What is the objective?

The objective is not to teach you what the law is but how to answer Bar Exam questions, particularly the essay portion. It will be a clinic in the sense that we will try to diagnose and find solutions to your problems in answering Bar Exam questions, be they related to grammar, style or logic and reasoning.

How does it work?

The program normally consists of 12 modules/exercises, which I will email one at a time with the corresponding instructions. You will have to send your answers to my email attyralph@gmail.com & after which I will give you feedback, comments and suggestions.

Should you be online at some specific time?

No, you can simply answer at your own convenience and time after receiving each exercise. There is no time deadline in submitting answers. But all the twelve modules can be completed in about 2 to 3 months depending on your time and speed.

Is this coaching open to law students?

Yes, the art of answering Bar exams should be learned as early as first year in law school. The earlier you learn this art, the more you would become a master of it by the time you take the Bar.
